# 09/03 Market overview

The Ethereum  Foundation announced that it will be selling 10,000 ETH via multiple exchanges, spread out through the coming weeks, for research, funding and donation purposes. The news has caught the attention of the market. Based on CoinGecko market data, ETH fell below $4,300, now at $4,288.35, down 6.2% in 7d. BTC meanwhile rose to $110,928, down 0.4% in 7d.
