# 10/11 Market overview: UNI now at $8.06, up 10% in 24h

Uniswap Labs announced Unichain, a Layer 2 chain built on Optimism’s Superchain. In order to become a validator on Unichain, one must stake UNI on Ethereum mainnet. With this announcement, UNI was up 10% in the past 24h, and up 23.4% in 7d, with the price currently at $8.06. 

Meanwhile, Uniswap v4’s security competition has also ended on 1st October, and is estimated to come online near the end of 2024.

The US CPI for September was announced yesterday at 2.4%, exceeding market expectations. The cryptocurrency market fell slightly. BTC is now at $60,423.97, down 2.6% in 24h. Ethereum is at $2,395.73, no change in 24h.
