Immutable 定位自己为以太坊上首个 NFT 的 Layer-2 扩展解决方案。据 Immutable 称，其区块链消除了以太坊的诸多限制，如低可扩展性、糟糕的用户体验、缺乏流动性以及开发体验缓慢。相反，用户可以在零 Gas 费的情况下进行即时交易和大规模扩展，而无需在铸造和交易 NFT 时牺牲用户或资产的安全性。

为实现这一目标，Immutable 使用了 STARK zk-rollups 技术，这是 Vitalik Buterin 认为以太坊“全盘支持”的技术。
