crvUSD 是 CurveFi 的原生稳定币。与其他稳定币类似，它以底层资产 ETH 作为支持。crvUSD 用于抵押债务头寸（CDP），意味着 crvUSD 采用了过度抵押，并且几乎没有面临清算风险。

2022 年，Curve Finance 宣布开发其稳定币，并随后在同年发布了该稳定币的白皮书。在2023年5月3日，Curve Finance 在以太坊网络上推出了 crvUSD 智能合约。

在一个重要的举措中，CurveFi 的首席执行官 Michael Egorov 存入了价值 180 万美元的 957 个 sfrxETH（一种由 Frax 创建的 ETH），以铸造价值 100 万美元的 crvUSD。目前，供应中只有 2000 万 crvUSD。

DeFi 用户可以选择将 sfrxETH 作为抵押品来铸造新的 crvUSD 稳定币。值得注意的是，crvUSD 不是治理代币，不授予对 CurveFi 提案的投票权。CurveFi 的治理决策使用其另一个原生代币 CRV 进行。CRV 允许 CurveFi 社区对协议费用、奖励和发展决策进行投票。该代币还用于流动性挖矿活动。
